nyc

Hey hey, sorry it's been so long since the last post but I was in the city last weekend and have spent the last few days trying to catch up on hw and all that. Went to ny with my friend and our boss and really had an awesome time for sure. It was the end of autumn in the city and the trees were really cool (the colors in central park and westchester were amazing) and beautiful.

I'm sure there'll be a few posts based off my trip. But first off, here's a few pics from the trip that I posted on Flickr. Have fun!!

Day Off

So I took a personal day today. It was awesome. I woke up late, skipped all my classes, got some stuff done that I needed to, and some stuff I just wanted to. Everyone once in a while, its kinda necessary anyways, I went and took some pics today. I'll toss one here, but go to my flickr account to see more.

Ok.. now for diminished austerity

Lol, ok back to the fun, no more seriousness for a bit. Just some great tunes that you should enjoy and a pic that i took with the lens i just bought. ha its fun, i gotta play with it more..

This is a song from Metal Hearts, an awesome little band from Baltimore. This album, Socialize was released in 2006, but I found it this year, so its new to me and awesome. Here's the first track from the album.

On overrated bands and new-ish music news.
*****OH MAN, I'M DOING SOMETHING ALMOST CURRENT (a month aint bad)*****
This is the best/only good song off of the Kings of Leon new album (released on sept 23rd), Only By The Night. Enjoy.

Oh, and did everyone notice that once you start playing a song with the yahoo player, you can hide it to the left side of the screen, and can also scroll through all the songs i've posted so far? awesome.

Ha, its just awesome to have somewhere to post stuff that I do. It's not the greatest right now, but it'll get better for sure. Gotta have something or somewhere to show your work or you'll never get feedback or get better. So, it's a start and please go there and give me the rude and constructive feedback I expect as an art major. Here's two of my fav pics I have posted there right now, but definitely go and check it out for more (and there will be more pics posted there soon!). Aight, have fun looking! Ha, out...

4th!!

Ha, ok, so I know this is a little late, but its all good. I wanted to post some fun pics I got on july 4th this year. Ha, me trying to figure out my camera, it was a fun experimentation time for sure. I know they aren't the best, but I learned a lot, and i learned that having a tripod would have been helpful. I still thought they were fun tho, so here ya go!!!! happy birthday America:)
(lol, don't you love the patriotic colors!! haha)

Intern

So I'm interning with a small company that my professor set me up with. It's pretty cool, sometimes it's a little much cuz i'm like working 35-40 at the plant now, and sometimes i'm putting in like 15-20 at the internship, but i'm starting to learn some really cool stuff and it's gonna look good on a resume for sure. Basically i work for a POS (point of sale; you know, those touch screen things that servers or bartenders use to put in orders) company that also does website design, and other stuff like that. Anyways, i'm starting to learn a lot about this sorta stuff which is awesome, and i my boss says that i'll prolly start doing some design stuff sometimes soon. Oh, and i'm also the trainer for the POS systems for the restaurants that buy it, so that's cool.

Anyways, I often work out at his house/office in hamburg right on the lake so here's some pics I took one day like half a block from his house; overlooking the buffalo skyline.

Modest Mouse

So last week joe and i went to see modest mouse in rochester. we saw em a year ago, and though i think last year's setlist was a bit better, it was still way fun. lol, not to mention joe convinced me to sneak "backstage" with him to watch the show. lol, so here's some pics of the show from my phone, the ones from the side were when we were standing beyond the gate (hence the sneaking part lol).

Wedding

So last weekend I went down to the finger lakes to go to Morgan and Glen's wedding. It was definitely really cool, and I'm so happy for them. I also did the photography with J parr which was real sweet. I can't really post any pictures that I took from the wedding (though I am very happy with them), but I put up a few that I took while I was down there.

The wedding was near Keuka Lake in the Finger Lakes and the area was beautiful, and it was really fun just hanging out near there. Plus to see the amazing friends that I haven't seen in forever, was awesome. Anyways, everyone go to weddings, they're real fun!! haha

Oh, and this tree, looks a lot higher off the ground at 4am, haha...
It aint the best pic in the world, lol, but its a dang good memory..

RADIOHEAD!!!!!

That night(5/10) we saw kanye. Good times for sure.

Next day(5/11), we woke up (after sleeping in the car, and being kicked out of one area.. cuz we were creating such a havoc.. sleeping in the car.. whatever..) realized we had some time to kill before Radiohead, and went to see Ironman. Nothing's gonna be Batman Begins or The Crow if we are looking for the amazing comic book film, but it was pretty good nonetheless.

After the movie, we decided to head out to the Pavilion to pregame before the show. So, we got our drinks,  food etc. plus a great array of games to play (it was already starting to rain pretty good, so we figured sitting outside, playing pong etc. was out of the question. Little did we know how the rain was going to continue..) I'm thinking the best outcome of this tho, was making a drinking game out of Monopoly (spanish edition of course.. lol)

Unfortunately, I couldn't bring my camera into either of the shows, but I got some pics of our time hanging in the car before radiohead; oh, and I snagged a pic of the band from flickr (def wasn't that close to radiohead lol).

Yeah... so as you can prolly tell, it was POURing, by the end of the night I saw people wading through puddles almost to their knees. Ha it was nuts, oh and pretty cold too, but totally worth it..

There's joe chillin on the bumper watching/hiding from the torrential downpour. Lol, made it an adventure for sure.

Oh, and my stolen pic of radiohead below\/

VA!! cont...

After this break, it was on to D.C. Joe and I were exHAUSTed, but we zombied around the hear of our political system nonetheless. We def had fun, took some pics of how small the W. Monument is, of Joe in those annoying foreign chicks' photos, etc. But our adventruing couldn't last long, def decided to take a nap (three hour turned out, in the middle of D.C. tourism area) before we bounced out to see Kanye at the Nissan Pavilian...

VA!!

So last weekend (May 9-12), my friend Joe and I travelled down to the D.C. We took his Mountaineer which was of course a million dollars of gas, but hey, it was a hotel too, so it's all good.
Anyways, I wasn't able to get out of work on friday till 11 and after shower, pack drive the hour and a half to his house, etc.  I didn't meet up with Joe to begin our trip until the wee morning (I'm thinking we left Rochester, NY at about 2am if I remember correctly). Well, because of that we didn't roll into dc until about 10 or 11am, but it was a good drive nonetheless. Awake to see the sunset, we decided to stop and take a few pics. Not as good as they could have been, here's a few that we took during the morning light...
